Job Description
We are looking for a recent graduate willing to learn and gain first-hand experience working as geological technician. You will be working alongside geologists in gathering, researching, and testing geological samples using state of the heart equipment’s.

Responsibilities:
Receiving, labeling, and safely storing geological samples to be tested
Laboratory Material collection, catalogue finding supervising and organizing research.
Cleaning, maintenance, setting up and recalibration of all laboratory equipment’s.
Collecting relevant specimens such as rocks and soil and preparing them for lab analysis following Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs.
Meticulous record keeping and database management.
Determining and performing lab tests needed for analysis and report.
Recording tests and compiling data for analysis and then reporting the results.
Discussing and answering any questions regarding the test results.
Organizing and storing earth samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety and integrity of samples. Other responsibilities as may be assigned by the team lead.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Science in Geology or applied sciences such as chemistry, physics.
Minimum of a second-class lower degree from a reputable institution.
0–1-year experience working as a laboratory technician.
Familiarity with basic geological computer programmes designed specifically for analysing samples using geological data.
Great scientific reasoning and mechanical knowhow.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities approaching them with logic and reasoning.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for team-based working.
Exceptional analytical, mechanical, and organizational skills required for our constantly evolving environment.
Proven time management skills, able to work under pressure and a strong attention to detail.
Strong research capabilities and a willingness to learn new analytical tests, instrumentation, and procedures.
Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
Able to prioritize effectively, balance assigned task.
Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
PREFERRED:
Recent graduate not more than 2 years.
Great scientific reasoning and mechanical knowhow.
Knowledge in geological and geotechnical interpretation with understanding of geological origin and processes.
Report writing and paperwork filing.
Evidence of personal investment in academic or extracurricular field.
